Top Ten Villains in #scandal

1. Lucy, our main character. #scandal is told from her point of view, so we definitely learn about her from a biased point of view! The #scandal photographs that compromised her classmates originated from her Facebook page, but were they posted by her? Or by an anonymous thief?

2. Cole, Lucy's best friend's boyfriend. Who initiated the fateful kiss- Lucy or Cole? If you think that Cole initiated, that makes him a villain for sure! He's supposed to be with poor sick Ellie, not Lucy! Also, Lucy was with Cole when her phone was stolen- could he have something to do with that?

3. Olivia. She was in attendance at the party, and she was majorly hurt by the #scandal photos. Her dad grounded her for life (nearly)! Afterward, she seems to lead the cyberbullying against Lucy, posting very mean comments on her Facebook. That's totally not cool, and I had suspicions that she was behind the "Juicy Lucy" fan (hate) page too.

4. Ms. Zeff, the school principal. At one point she calls Lucy into her office for a meeting to discuss the #scandal photos and the Juicy Lucy page... and blames Lucy! Color me #appalled. The principal should be unbiased and listen to both sides of the story, and be supportive of students. Instead, Lucy leaves feeling even more bullied and overwhelmed.

5. Asher, the president of (e)vil. ((e)vil = electronic vanities intervention league, a school club that's spreading awareness of the evil of social media. He's pretty hardcore, and stages protests. Also, his club puts out anti-Lucy flyers. She's being bullied in and out of cyberspace!

6. Ellie, Lucy's (former?) best friend. She seems super sweet when we meet her, but Lucy did kiss her boyfriend, so that's definitely motive! Does she have potential to be a villian?

7. Griff, Ellie and Lucy's friend. She's shameless! I would love to actually see a pic of her with her Marilyn Monroe curls, cheesing with Prince Freckles. However, that same shamelessness and impetuosity could mean that she would act (like setting up a Juicy Lucy page) without thinking, consequences be damned. So she might not be too vicious of a villain, but maybe more of a thoughtless villain. Her fierce loyalty to one friend (Ellie) might lead to her acting against her other friend (Lucy).

8. Jayla Heart/Angelica Darling, Lucy's sister/celebrity. We don't get to know her too well in #scandal, but she's flaky as all get out and totally addicted to social media. You can ask her any given moment and she can give you her fan base numbers. Who knows? She might have gotten caught up in the #scandal and Juicy Lucy page while following the trending crowd!

9. Franklin, the editor of the school newspaper and resident Brit. You'll have to read the book to find out more about why he may or may not be a villain! But with his attachment to print media (the school paper) and his disdain for Americans' attachment to social media, he might be making an example of Lucy's misfortune, eh?

10. So we're at the very end of our list, with #1 being the most villainous of the villains, so #10 can be the very least villainous: Prince Freckles. He's my fave! He's 110% not the villain! I love him. I love his name and his patience with the kids and how he remains Lucy's friend and confidante. And you'll have to read the book to find out what character is behind such an awesome name! ;)

More tomorrow! Come back tomorrow for more #scandal-ousness!
